Olivia Maffett
A native Londoner, Olivia trained at Webber Douglas and is a warm and funny actress, dedicated to the success of any company she works with.
She plays Viv in the soon to be released feature Onward and Sideways penned by comedy writer Paul Mayhew-Archer, in which she has scenes with leads Rhys Ifans and Laura Linney.
Olivia was in the full company of Rebecca Frecknall’s Olivier-winning production of Tennessee Williams’ Summer and Smoke at the Duke of Yorks. She also appeared in the original production of Stoppard’s Indian Ink at the Aldwych.
Musical Theatre includes The Sound of Music (number one tour), Darling of the Day at the Union Theatre Southwark, Ballroom at Waterloo East and Little Women for director Adam Lenson.
Olivia has combined her acting career with working as a choral singer at the highest level. She completed 13 years of opera chorus work at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden. As a session singer, Olivia has contributed to many film soundtracks, including the Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter series. She sang for many years in the choir at the Chapel of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea. She has had a long association with the John Wilson Orchestra as a choral singer, performing in many concerts at the Proms and touring in repertoire from the golden age of Hollywood musicals.
Quirky rom-com Onward and Sideways is a Hilltop/BBC production, directed by Oscar nominee John Madden. It will be released in cinemas in the autumn and will be on the BBC this Christmas.
